In 2005, Clear
Channel Media (now iHeartMedia, worth $3.6 billion in 2019) recruited Dr. Firpo
Carr and gave him the “Dr. Firpo Carr Show” in Los Angeles. The
following entry can be found on “Where Are They Now: LARadio.com, Los
Angeles Radio People”: “Carr, Firpo: KTLK, 2005. The spiritual
advisor to Michael Jackson started a weekend talk show at Progressive
“K-TALK” in the late spring 2005.”
Some years
before hosting his show, Carr was a guest on several radio shows promoting his
books. As CEO of Scholar Technological Institute of Research, Inc. (STIR Inc.),
an educational and non-profit 501(c)3, he also called attention to the nature
of their work. Below is a sampling of some of his interviews.

Theme: “Are Homosexuals Born That Way?”
Date: Sunday, June 22, 1997
Location: Weho Lounge, West Hollywood, California
Background: Dr.
Firpo Carr debated against at least five other panelists, all involved in
same-sex relationships, who suggested that homosexuality is indeed genetic. His
book, Are Gays Really “Gay”?—A Sociological, Scientific, and
Theological Analysis, states, among other things, that homosexuality is not
genetic. Dr. Carr is straight, while all the other panelists are gay or lesbian
psychologists, pastors, and university professors, to name a few. It was
“Gay Pride” day, so the station arranged to have a live,
quasi-outdoor broadcast. A primarily gay and lesbian crowd gathered around to
ask questions and cheer on the other panelists. At the show’s end, DiPrima
revealed a secret guest, a gay scientist—a geneticist from the University of
California at San Francisco. He had listened to the entire show. When DiPrima
dramatically asked him at the end of the show if Carr was correct in concluding
that there was no “gay gene,” he responded, yes, after a long pause.
“He’s right. There is no gay gene” (though not his exact words). Carr
was vindicated.
